The territory of Orune, in the heart of Barbagia, preserves a granitic landscape dotted with Nuragic monuments. Besides the sacred spring of Su Tempiesu, two nuraghi are worth a visit: Santa Lulla and Nunnale.

IL TERRITORIO
SU TEMPIESU
Su Tempiesu was an important Nuragic sacred spring temple dedicated to the cult of water. The constructional precision of its distinctive double-pitched roof, still well preserved, makes it a unique architecture in Sardinia.
The temple stands against the rocky wall of sa Costa 'e Sa Binza, a short walk from the village of Orune, in the Nuoro area.
NURAGHE SANTA LULLA
The Santa Lulla nuraghe dominates the valley of Marreri and the Rio Isalle, near the sacred spring of Su Tempiesu.
It is a complex nuraghe, called quadrilobed, because around the central tower four towers are arranged, joined by an outer wall.
NURAGHE NUNNALE
The Nunnale nuraghe, in the centre-north of Sardinia, in the territory of Orune, is a remarkable example of the encounter between protohistoric monumental architecture and the granitic rocky landscape of Barbagia.
Built on a rocky outcrop known as Sa Pedra de Nunnale, it is a single-tower nuraghe that uses the rock as structural support and as a defensive and scenic element.
